I got mine from IBM. You can call them and have 'em send you one. The cost is only $50.00 USD and it's Windows XP.
A31 2652-Q3U Pentium 4-M 2GHz, 15" SXGA+IPS LCD, 512 MB PC2100, 40 GB HDD, Windows XP Pro, Sony Multi-Burner, Ultra Bay 2000 Battery, Intel Pro 2200 b/g mPCI wireless card

thank, I call them, but did not want to pay. so I did:
got my friend's XP, install it, change the COA to the sticker on the back of the laptop, "MS web site guide", install Lenovo's System Upgrade and it took care of every thing. now I am fine.

thanks

Ekdya,
Could you explain this process more fully?
You used a full XP install disk and after installation, changed the key to the original TPad key and then had it authenticated?

after installing the xp, login to MS to update, once there, MS will scan the PC and found the my xp lic. is no good "for whatever reason", they asked me if I want to change the lic., which download and install some other package that allowed me to enter the lic. # on the back of the laptop, I don't remember all the steps as they are too many but walked throught it by MS update(s) was easy.

Worked like a charm. No need to scour the landscape for the disks.
Thanks again, John
