#1 Post by BuddyWill » Thu May 03, 2007 9:56 pm

Does anyone know the Ultrabay Slim HDD adapter fits the 'Advanced Ultrabay' found on the Z60 series?

That's what I posted a few minutes ago but when I researched some more this is what I found:

The tabook.pdf says that the Z60m uses the 40Y8725 Serial ATA hard drive adapter. The 41U3148 appears to be a Parallel ATA adapter.

what am I to do w my old 70gb 5400rpm drive? The HDD adapter would have worked great for me.

Sorry, but I don't know enough about the Z series to say that you could plug in a PATA Ultrabay adapter. The documentation from IBM/Lenovo says that the 40Y8725 can be used. That may not preclude the use of the 41U3148 adapter. Perhaps someone with personal experience will be along in a little while to set us both straight :) .

My personal experience.

I used a PATA adapter 62P4553 worked with no problems on a z60t. I have also been using this on a T60p R52 and X60s, not to mention the T4x series, works well.

If my adapter is the same with the 41U3148 then it should work as well. I think the you can use the same principle as with optical drives, as long as the connector is the same for the ultrabay, it should work.
