How do you change a video chip? warning pics

This is my r40 video chip.
The screen keeps jumping and locking and then goes thru test modes,like weird lines in different formats.
If i restart the computer it works fine.
But as soon as i tap the keyboard it flips out.Or if i tap it anywhere.

My video chip has white crust coming out of the side.Its not the actual video chip,its the chip next to it,.
any ideas?

You asked this question last month and as far as I can tell, you received the appropriate answer as to the probable cause of your video problems (bad connection of the graphics chip and/or memory and white crust is probably thermal grease):

It is normally not possible for the average consumer to easily and/or safely replace a BGA (ball grid array) device on a printed circuit board. Yes, people have had some success in using a hot-air gun to heat up the chip and get the solder balls to melt but as far as being able to totally remove the chip, I would not recommend it. If you attempt to use the hot-air gun approach to reflow the solder balls, I would also closely monitor the temperature and make sure it does not exceed around 240C (exact temperature depends on the type of solder that was used). You need to slowly heat up the chip and then quickly bring it up to the melting point of the solder and then let it cool down slowly. Refer to the graph:
