Error 2010 (revisited)

Hello.... new member here.

I've searched the forums and see there is a lot of issues and fixes relative to the 2010 drive error.

I have a ThinkPad that I had previously installed a Hitatchi 60gb Travelstar 5400RPM drive in. (Model #MTS5480609AT00)

I just installed Vista which works great (I also upgraded to 1gb RAM) and then I upgraded the BIOS from Lenovo to the new "Vista Ready" version... and of course now I get the 2010 incompatible drive warning at boot-up.

It seems others on this forum have had success with flashing the firmware on this exact same drive... but the IBM/Lenovo firmware update won't work for me - it says "Drive unmatch" when I try to run the update command from a dos command line. I have tried all the options that I can find here.

Has anyone successfully done a flash/firmware update to a plain Hitatchi 60gb Travelstar 5400RPM (Model #MTS5480609AT00) so that the 2010 error goes away?
