Internet keys

#1 Post by scotto » Mon Oct 11, 2004 12:59 pm

On the a31p, how can I set the command run by the internet keys on the left side of the keyboard?

In Windows XP, the IBM key utility lets me program the mail and browser keys (letter and home symbols) but not the remaining four below them. Since they're currently set up for IE, and since I'm using Mozilla, they aren't of much use as is.

Grumpy side note: I've called IBM tech support about this three times, and the last time, it took about five minutes for the tech to confirm that the a31p does, indeed, have internet keys. He at first maintained that it does not. He was stumped but promised to get back to me (three weeks ago).

This was progress: On the first two calls, both techs got nervous when they did not have an immediate answer, and then they put me on hold. Actually, they just hung up. IBM product quality is great but I'm afraid that tech support quality is degrading.

That's too bad about the Tech support. I have always had great luck with them. No waits, and very helpful, even when they didn't know what they were talking about.
