R60 bluetooth problem

#1 Post by xuandao » Tue Jun 05, 2007 8:54 am

I have a R60 9462A37 with XP sp2(clean install). when i try to update the firmware using

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-64741

It said "The DFU Wizard did not detect a matching Bluetooth device.."

My bluetooth is switched on as the bluetooth LED is flashing..

Also when I click on My BlueTooth places then on View devices in range.. it gives me this error

Bluetooth licence check failed. Please make sure that the Bluetooth device is plugged in/turned on, the device you are using is licensed for this software and that your licence has not expired.

In device manager I have
Bluetooth Devices
-> Bluetooth Bus Enumerator
-> Broadcom USB Bluetooth Device

Network adapters
-> Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver

try updating software first

Hi xuandao,

I had a problem just like this on my wife's T60. I couldn't get the firmware to install.

Try installing the _software_ update first, then try the firmware upgrade again. That's what worked for me.

Don't forget they recommend doing an uninstall of the current bluetooth software before you install the new. You do this from the add/remove software tool found in the Control Panel.

One other thing to look out for is if you haven't clicked on "My Bluetooth Places" yet then the software doesn't initialize or something odd like that so even though it is "on" it may not have initialized.

Good luck,
