I have an R32 with P4m 1.6ghz 512MB RAM
Harddrive access seems slow anything that uses it and uses alot of CPU power. Using onboard Intel Ethernet I can only acheive roughly 50mbps, where with main computer I can pull 90mbps on the same network, same switch. While only able to acheive this 50mbps I am using 70ish% cpu usage.
Same with wireless, where roomates can use full wifi speed, I have not been able to pass 40% of the 11mbps connection, and even then it uses alot of cpu.
It was a used laptop, and I did a fresh OS install. Did intel chipset, but could not do Intel Application Accelerator and cannot find anything on IBM's site to help.
I have many other IBM components installed but no help. I have IBM supplied wifi drivers, CAT4.9, trackpoint driver, powermanagement driver, and others.
I have used the IBM Software Installer and everythng checks out normal.
In order to burn a cd, it takes 58%cpu, my desktop uses like 5% max.
please help.
