A22m brought back to Life

#1 Post by fkelly » Mon Jul 02, 2007 11:02 am

Not sure what I did, but if anyone else had this problem, could you give me some insight.

I have an A22m and after 10 minute or so running, the screen would start to flicker and I would have to power it off. Upon restart I would skip past the diskcheck.

With time to work on this thing, this time I performed a diskcheckupon startup, it showed I had a "winnt/prefetch error". I'm not sure if the diskcheck fixed it or not but it stayed working fine for the rest of the day.

I ran Perfect Disk 8, a bunch of different spyware programs (AVG found 5289 malwares) and deleted a bunch of files.

Now ole Betsy seems to run faster and I have kept it running for the past 24 with no hitches or glitches...

Tough question but anyone know what I did and is there anything else I can do or look into.

Keep it simple, for I am not the deep dig kinda pc guy.

Thanks in advance

Frank
