Replaceing the rear USB plug on A22 system

#1 Post by SaberX » Thu Jul 12, 2007 3:08 pm

I have this A22P here but the rear USB plug has the little plactic part thats inside the USB plug missing. The plug still works but what ever i plug into it is realy lose and you have to keep it to one side to keep it working.
I know on some other systems the USB plug is not onto the motherboard and can be replaced.
Befor i take this one the A22P , i just want to see what otheres think.
Is the USB plug soldered onto the motherboard or not?
I just the cheapest way to fix it is to get a pcmcia usb card. But its nice to have that USB plug working.

I just got an e-mail saying i have a new PM in my in-box here. But when i log in here i dont see any new ones. So i dont know if anyone tryed to PM me on this or not.
If so you can also e-mail me.

Just an update on this USB.
I took the keyboard off,and the keyboard bezel.I than removed the floppydrive to have a look at the rear USB port.
Looks like on this model it's soldered on the board.
So i guess the cheapest and easyest way to fix it is get a USB card from E-bay.This way i will get two maybe four usb ports and also usb 2.0.
