Can't Connect Gigabit

#1 Post by vbgeek » Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:15 am

I have a Z61t, that uses an advanced docking station (2503). When I connect my network cable directly to the cable on the laptop, it connects at 1000 Mbps; however when I connect my network cable to the ethernet port on the docking station, it only goes at 100 Mbps. I have verified that the card inside the docking station does support gigabit. Any thoughts please on this?!! Is there an option that disables gigabit on the docking station? Thanks!!!!

The Advanced Dock is supposed to provide pass through gigabit ethernet, so it should not require any special drivers. Either the dock is defective, or the dock port/circuitry is bad on the z61t, or there is a problem with the basic functionality of the two combined that Lenovo needs to look into. I'd start with Lenovo if the machine is under warranty.
