Memory for R50 ?

#1 Post by ludox » Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:38 am

Perhaps my new thinkpad in less than 1 hour...R50

So,

For R50, does all memory modules works with it ?
(user of T21 is speaking...)

Which advices could you tell me ?

Could I change pc2700 modules by pc3200 or the motherboard don't support more than 2700 ?
T42 is paid and I hope seller is serious (pro). Waiting it.(no signs, reclaim in place)
IBM R50 1.5ghz/1,256Go/80go/Linux ubuntu

I don't see why PC3200 modules would not work, but they will run at 166MHz(PC2700) speed, not 200MHz (PC3200) speed.

thanks,

I have the piece. Plastics seems not so heavy than on T21 and I have an azerty keyboard but belgium version and not french version.

My first feeling is good. Linux ubuntu has been installed without problem.

I think PC2100 is 266MHz, PC2700 is 333MHz, PC3200 is 400MHz ................etc.

Am I wrong ?

Ok, I begin o search my 512 or 1GB memory module.

I hope have no problem.

A 512 kingston new is for 24€ but the 512 recommended by Kingston is 50€.

I think that pc2100 module is actually most expansive.
