labelling

#1 Post by allan » Sat Sep 08, 2007 11:00 pm

My 11-month old R60 was labelled IBM Thinkpad on the lower right below the fingerboard. Does this continue with the current models?
Or is it a Lenovo label?
I ask only because I've always liked the logo on my past TPs and wouldn't be as happy with a lenovo tag. Kind of like having Daihatsu pasted on the back of my Land-Rover. Or Samsung on the front of my Nikons.

Consumer orders still come with IBM sticker but by 2008 all Thinkpad/ThinkCentre machines will come completely with new labels.

Under an agreement between IBM and lenovo, the latter was allowed to use IBM name and logo for up to 5 years.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thanks for the update on that. I guess its pretty irrational but I just like seeing that logo even if exactly the same unit could have been labeled Double Happines (sic) Computer Co.
