What's my R60 worth these days?

#1 Post by snessiram » Wed Oct 03, 2007 4:47 pm

So I was wondering... what would my R60 be worth if I sell it "today"?

ThinkPad R60 9461-54G

Original description: T2400(1.83GHz), 512MB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HD, 15in 1400x1050 LCD, 128MB ATI Radeon X1400, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Fingerprint reader, IEEE 1394, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Lenovo warranty passed (The thinkpad is just more then one year old). If I'm right I have 2 year warranty in the store, but not sure about that, nor what it would cover.

Perfect condition (mostly used with external keyboard) except for one extremely light scratch on the top cover (I don't really see it actually, just when looking for it and holding in a certain position for the light I find it).

Original price: 1400 euros (sept 2006)

Please note that I'm in Belgium, so "European prices" would be nice...
Take a look here for current prices from Lenovo.
R60 - 1.83Ghz Core Duo, 15" SXGA+, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (128mb), 2GB RAM, 80GB
Macbook - 2.1Ghz Core 2 Duo, 13.3" WXGA, Nvidea 9400M, 4GB RAM, 120GB (7200rpm)

I'm not familiar with the R60, but a rule of thumb is that brand new laptops lose 40% of their value per year during the first two years. On top of that, the warranty expired. So, my guess is 750 to 800 euros.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP
