Will a 533mhz Mobile P4 replace a NW 400mhz Celeron P4 ?

#1 Post by vme2mopars » Sun Oct 07, 2007 1:16 am

I've got G40 that I don't use much anymore, and a dead G41.

The dead G41 has a 533mhz FSB Mobile Pentium 4 that runs at 3.2ghz.

The working G40 has a 400mhz Northwood Celeron that runs at 2500MHZ.

Would it be possible to put the 3.2ghz P4 into the G40, without any other modifications ?

Thank you !

I'd tend to doubt that...fans are probably not the same, and I don't see that you can fit a 3.2 P4 in a Celeron socket, though I might be wrong...these machines look similar, but are very different on the inside...

What's wrong with your G41?

Why not just sell both and get something else...or, if you're that hooked on G series, get a nice freshly refurbished G41...?
