using XP Recovery Console

#1 Post by markspraggins » Sun Oct 14, 2007 3:21 pm

Sorry if this has already been asked - I can't find it anywhere. I have been getting BSOD on ndis.sys when using my wireless NIC. In trying to repair, the problem has got worse and now when booting I get to mup.sys and XP hangs. Rescue & Recovery haven't helped - it won't let me recover to factory settings. As a last resort I have used an XP CD that I have. Pressing R to recover states that "setup didn't find and hard disk drives installed" How can I get past this to do a recover. I suspect either ndis.sys is corrupt or ntoskrnl.exe.

You need to switch HDD settings from SATA to Compatibility mode in the BIOS.
