Here's the scenario~
Mister R52 clotheslined me with his power cable the other night, resulting in said R52 making a flying leap to the hardwood floor. Upon restarting, some Windows files refused to load due to corruption. Long story short, I had to re-image the drive. I had no idea what to expect, since I haven't had to take such drastic action on this machine as of yet. I had previously made all my recovery disks and had them nearby, though I wasn't once prompted for any of them, as apparently all needed files were on the preboot partition- or so I thought. After quite a long day of resetting things up and downloading hundreds of megs needed to replace files that I thought should've been in the original image, I still have no USB or PCMCIA functionality. Now, I've never been familiar with the PCMCIA bus, as this is the first laptop I've ever owned, but it seems to me that it has something to do with USB, since, even though Device Manager shows the PCMCIA driver to be ok, when I plug my wireless broadband card in, it brings up the prompt to install the USB controller drivers. At current I have 6 or 7 USB drivers detected with windows only being able to install 2 of them. I've looked everywhere for drivers and solutions to no avail.
Anyone?
Thanks much!
