? About wireless on my R50

#1 Post by RonW » Sun Nov 25, 2007 7:22 pm

I recently loaded Vista on it just to see how well it would run I was impressed that it ran fine and opened programs somewhat faster but system ran really hot so I took it off and put XP back on it. Problem is now my wireless is having some kind of problems. It will connect but it cannot obtain a IP address. Everything was fine before I put vista on the laptop and I can assure my router is fine otherwise my other wireless hardware wouldn't be working so somethings up with the laptop. But to rule it out I reset the router back to its default settings and started over but laptop doesnt want to obtain an IP automatically.

Ive pulled all the drivers off and reinstalled and still get the same problem.. I got it to work when I disabled encrption and use an open wifi rather then my usual WEP.

What seems to be wrong?
