R50e servicing ?

Hi,

I have 2 years old R50e ThinkPad which is Centrino powered.
Last week I opened upper casing to clean up dust. I was unable to remove 3 screws which are located behind battery bay. And thus failed to remove upper cover completely.

I want to clean dust which is below processor fan. Is it required to add thermal paste when remounting processor fan back to its place? Any tips ? Is there any fan servicing ? Any special instruction for cleaning fan ?
