Thinkpad R31 (2656-2GU) dead cpu fan!!!

Hello everyone I have a thinkpad R31 that has a dead fan. It does not work and the computer gets hot really quickly when watching movies/ videos etc. My questions is, is there any generic cpu fans I can purchase that will work well with my laptop model# 2656-2GU? Because it is very difficult to find the fan assembly FRU 26P9723 at a reasonable price.

BTW my laptop is almost 5yrs old!!

There is no "generic" fan that would solve your problem, but I'm fairly certain that if you post a WTB ad in the Marketplace section of the forum, someone will find one for you.
