Hi,
DVD playing should work out of the box.

Intel 2200BG could be a problem, acoording to this page:

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:A30

the only wifi card shipped with A30 was this:

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/IBM_High_ ... with_Modem

So you may encounter that 1802 error problem especially with any card which also support 802.11g, but I don't know for sure if the whitelist check is also in the A30.

You may also take a look at this:

X60t - 3GB RAM, 60GB HDD, currently no battery, SXGA+
X61t - 4GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1 hour battery, SXGA+ with bubbles
T530 - i7-3630QM, 16GB RAM, 240+480GB SSDs, 3G, Full HD LCD, 9 cell battery

The Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG card is a "plug-in" and works with the latest Intel drivers without a single problem on my A30

And anything else I can stuff in.

Any one else here old enough to have used an IBM 029 Keypunch? :}

OK Kendas I will research that card and make sure I am on the right track. Did you install a generic or Ibm card?

It's just the branded "Intel" card. Model is 2915ABG.

Here is a link: http://www.acnt.com/product.asp?pf_id=NBNCI2915

Note: It is supported by Lenovo and ThinkPad drivers are listed on Lenovo's website

I've had excellent results using Intel 2200BG, as well as Broadcom a/b/g and Atheros a/b/g, although on A31p machines, but there should be no difference between the two in this respect.
