Display dimming

#1 Post by owbert » Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:54 pm

I have noticed that even if the battery is completely charged, if i were to remove the AC OUTLET plug from the laptop the screen will dim by a noticeable level. Anyway to disable this from happening?

Adjusting the screen light through the function key does not help. It is at full bars before i remove it the AC plug and it is still at full bars after i remove it.

I know it is to help converse battery, but i would like to have my own choice.

I have tried fiddling with the Power Options but to no such luck. Also with the display properities and the Intel graphics media control.

I think it has something to do with the install thinkpad battery program. i guess ill disable it if it comes down to it.

Nope, i think it is a regedit service.

There is a display setting in BIOS that if you set to "High" then LCD doesn't dim on battery. The setting is also available in Windows. I forgot it's either Thinkpad Config Utility or Power Manager.
