Drivers for R61?

#1 Post by CRAZYBUBBA » Mon Dec 31, 2007 11:17 am

Hi guys, I've recently switched from a mac so I have little to no knowledge of windows/thinkpads.

I've read on the forums that when reinstalling xp onto my system I will need to install drivers as well.... areall the drivers not included on my thinkpad's restore disc? (It came w/ XP)

Depends on the XP install disk. If it's one provided by Lenovo as a restore disk set, then yes, all of the (then current) drivers should be on there. If you are talking about a retail version of Windows, then no, you will have to download drivers specific to some aspects of your system. Here is a general link for Thinkpad software and drivers at ibm.com:

If it wasn't deleted, all the drivers and the applications installed on your machine should be located in the SWTools on the C:\ drive.
