2nd HDD in UltraBay

#1 Post by rchin » Mon Nov 22, 2004 3:17 pm

R40
XP Home

I bought 2nd HDD and the adapter for the UltraBay.
The only instruction that came with the adapter was
how to put the HDD into the adapter.

Now what next ? Hopw do I make XP home recognize the 2nd disk ?

Thanks  :?:

You will have to format your disk.

In Windows XP go to the following place...

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Managment

1) Initialize the Disk your working with
2) Format the disk

You should be ready to use it then.
If you have a service contract with IBM I have in the past found their technical support very helpful and would recommend you call them.

Be sure not to format your c: drive.
