R51e drive scrambled - how to get rebuilding diskcs?

#1 Post by DavidR » Sun Jan 13, 2008 9:09 pm

I have lost access to the recovery partition. It is there but I can't make it active or anything. I used Partition Magic to merge two other partitions and reinstall Windows but still can not reset the laptop to as-purchased condition. Is there any way to (1) access the IBM partition and re-setting the machine or (2) get CDs from Lenovo?

Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette.

It will work if the service partition is healthy. You'll need a floppy disk drive though.

AFAIK, it only works with floppy disk drive and it doesn't have to be built in, an external USB FDD will also work.
