super pi change

#1 Post by allan » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:13 pm

Hi all,
I hadn't run super pi for some months and after seeing a mention of it I gave it a another go. 56 seconds for 1M! It used to be 30! I have no idea why so can anyone suggest where I might look for a reason? There were no other apps running and I wasn't on line.

Every time I had run SuperPi, it gave me different result with a difference of 3-5 seconds.

You'll find some useful info. in the following thread:

How accurate is Super Pi?.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thanks for the link. My problem is that the difference means almost twice as long whereas before it was always between 30 and 31 seconds.
