It has been a while since I ran Thinkvantage System Update on my Z61t. The downloads (18 all total) included lots of Lenovo/MS stuff plus a new BIOS update. The computer froze up several times and I had to power off and restart to get it to finish the job. Apparently Vista and System Update were fighting with each other. (Just my educated guess).
After all the updates, everything was back to normal. I removed the fingerprinter software, and a couple other things. No big deal.
The good news is I now show 99% signal on the wireless instead of 60%.
The bad news is I got a message that I had to validate/register Vista. Apparently the BIOS change was big enough to trip Vista validation. It would not take my old COA and I had to call MS to get the job done.
Just an FYI...Bill
