Easy to change an optical drive in a R61i ?

#1 Post by dorronto » Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:17 am

Just a quick question since there is no "easy eject" button on the side of the laptop. I believe I have to take the keyboard and palmrest off to change the drive.

Anyone do this yet? I have a 15.4" WXGA screen.

Thanks,
Ron

PS.The trbook states there is no support for Ultrabay Enhanced drives for this model, R61i. Only a fixed EIDE drive is installed.

I've done it on a 15,4" model, a piece of cake. There's one screw holding it in, Keyboard and palm rest need to be removed in order to push the drive out from the inside. The HMM as always explains it clearly.
