Best Place to find upgrade DVD Burner from DVD ROM Drive!
I been hunting for the best price to purchase a DVD dual multi-burner. I guess the Z61T takes a 9.5mm thick burner.
Ebay has several of them but the lowest price is from England. I was wonder if you knew other sources that are available. Lenovo has there for around $200.00 plus shipping.

The measurement is wrong, your Z (?) series machine accepts Ultrabay Enhanced which measures 12.7 mm in height.

Lenovo DVD Burner for a Z61T 9443-XXX
ryengineer,
Thanks for the reply.
Lenovo website comes up with the model number of the DVD burner for my Thinkpad as 41N5643! which is an .37 inch height or 9.5mm.
That the reason I used the 9.5mm height!
I private email u0330v - the seller of the DVD burners; to find out which size is right for my Thinkpad Z61T. I am confuse as to the height now! Does anyone have a model similar to my and has metric tape measure to find out the height?
I will let you know what happens.
Thanks!

I must apologize, Z6xt accepts Ultrabay slim (9.5mm) only, the burners u0330v has will not fit in. Rest of all Z series models (m, p, e) takes Ultrabay Enhanced (12.7mm).
You might be in luck had you come here earlier last week because I saw a member selling an Ultrabay Slim for $49 in the Marketplace.

Leaning towards buying it directly from Lenovo - online! It $199.99 and shipping. It about $100 more then I wanted to spend but it guarranteed and you know it will be the right one and it will be "new" and so forth. I love to wait for the Blu-Ray Burner to get to the 9.5mm height too! I might wait a year to see if the Blu-Ray Burner goe down to $250 ish!
I guess I can use an external burner for my backup but a built-in would be so convenient and a blu-ray would be great for back ups - 25mb (might be 50mb) of storage each DVD!
I will think about it! Maybe I will wait for the Blu-Ray(Ideal) and if a reasonable price DVD burner comes I will buy it!
Really don't need a DVD burner yet I guess not for old technology and $200 when the trend is HD!
