R31 CPU and RAM Upgrade?

#1 Post by Harryc » Tue Feb 12, 2008 7:08 pm

What's the fastest CPU that I can put in an R31 that currently has a Celeron 1.0GHz Processor? Max RAM?

The fastest CPU is 1.2 and RAM is 1Gb if you have two slots, which not all of them do.

Thanks George. Is that a 1.2 Pentium 3-M or a Celeron? The R30 trwbook book lists a Celeron 1.2 as the fastest. It also lists a Pentium 3-M 1.13. Which is faster?

Sorry, Harry, I should've been more precise: it's P3M, the same one used in T23 and A30p.

However, I'm not absolutely positive that boards are the same, so you may want to do some research on that...I believe they are, though, but it's been a long time since I've last had one of these...

Thanks once again. I spotted one on a local Craigslist, but it has a bad Ethernet port, which trwbook also mentions is 'on planar'. Bad mojo there ... I think I'll pass since it's very low end to begin with, and not very upgradeable.
