CPU upgrade for R51

#1 Post by smarkham » Wed Feb 27, 2008 12:19 pm

I've done several searches and have come up short on info. I'm wanting to determine what CPU upgrades are available to me.

According to 'Intel Processor ID Utility'- I currently have a Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz. I'm running several graphic intensive programs and chew up 100% CPU creating unacceptable lags with non-responsive chunks of time. I'm currently at 1 Gig memory, and would upgrade to 2 Gig if a faster processor would help mitigate my lag times.

Are there any dual core processors available for my machine, or am I doomed just to get a faster (2.0) Pentium M CPU?

The fastest you can use is the pentium 765 which runs at 2.10ghz.
