Internal Bluetooth won't work after clean install
Hi..
I need help with this Bluetooth issue. I tried to search but looks like now one had similar problem.
I re-installed fresh copy of Windows XP on my Z60t last weekend, and now the Bluetooth logo shows up as blue/red instead of blue/white in the system tray. When I click on it, all options are grey-out except for "search for device", and which I select that, it says "no bluetooth device found on this computer".
The Bluetooth shows up properly under "Device Manager", and Fn+F5 shows it's on, as well as showing up as "enable" in Bios.
I tried all three driver/setup exe files on Lenovo's website and now of them works. Does anyone have a solution to this?
Before I formatted my drive, the thing worked flawlessly with one of these three drivers online. Help!!!!
Appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks,
dK

There are a few updates that do not install automatically. You have to go to the "C drive", then drivers, then "Win", then see if the BT drive was in the Win directory. There may be a setup program that still needs to be executed.
This migtht work...but you could aways download the driver manually, but instead of open, do a "save as" and put it in a directory you create. I put mine on a USB thumb drive. Then open that file and follow the steps to run "setup". Now you know it will install. Check to see that your hardware matches the driver. What is strange is the fact that you see it turned on...but it still is not working. Try removing the old driver before you install anything new.
Good luck...Bill
