A30 & A31 Modifications

I have decided not to go ahead with trying to make a new laptop out of an non-working A30 or A31 ( I have two of each now, laying around) by transplanting a newer system board into their existing chassis's I am seriously looking at a T42P, here are the specs.... any comments?

IBM Thinkpad T42p
Pentium M 1.8GHz
128MB FireGl T2
1GB RAM
60GB Hard Drive
DVD-RW
Bluetooth
WIFI
15" UXGA Display
Windows XP Pro

This seems like a standard T42/P configuration. What were you looking for comment on? If you list the price we can comment on that :).

That's a good price if the warranty is from IBM. If not, I'd check what is (not) covered under it.

These machines do suffer from the infamous GPU issue, and are getting old enough for the backlights to be questionable.

Don't get me wrong, I love T42p and my wife has one (probably number 54 in her own personal count), but we also have on-site warranty on it through November of 2009...
