Help reformatting a Z60M 2531MTU

#1 Post by HowardL » Sun Mar 09, 2008 10:58 pm

I bought this computer 18 mos. ago and have reformatted it twice due to problems. I would now like to reformat using a clean copy of XP Pro w/sp2 and not use the factory reformat with all the extra baggage.

My question is that I am not sure how to get all the drivers available to me in advance so that after I install a clean version of Windows XP Pro I can then install all the necessary drivers.

Can someone give me some guidance with this?
Which drivers will I need in advance?
What else will I need?
Many thanks in advance

All of the drivers and applications installed on your machine are located in the SWTools folder on the C:\ drive. Then just install the system updater if you wish. I personally don't update unless I have a reason to do so.

I have a folder that says SW Tools but there is only 1 application to install in the apps/RnR30 folder. I don't know what program it is as it only shows setup.exe so I'm not sure how to actually get the drivers so I can install them.
Thanks

Perhaps since you have the Z60 it says IBMTools. At any rate there should be a folder on the drive which has all the drivers and applications if it wasn't deleted.
