Is this hitachi HDD (HTS541616J9AT00) will work on my R50p (18322AG). Thank You!

Yes, that and any PATA disk will work.

My colleague has a laptop Toshiba and he's upgrated with this HDD (HTS541616J9AT00) . So when I put his HTS541616J9AT00 in my R50p and try to boot the folowing message appear
"can not read
pres Ctrl Alt Del
to restart"
I read about flashing HDD's firmaware, but this model is not included in the last released FWHD50's FW.PRO file. But I read some post from T41/42 owners that use this HTS541616J9AT00. I think T42 is similar with R50p . Correct?
Any ideas?

This is very odd. I've had a bunch of different HDDs in a variety of R50p units that I've owned, and have never seen a message like that.

My assumption is that what you're seeing is R50p refusing to read another manufacturer's OS or format...

Or the drive could simply be dead.

It's the T43 that had firmware issues, and the R50p is most like the T41p.

The HDD is working just fine when I returned to the Toshiba laptop.
