A31 Display Adapter Repeats Display

#1 Post by fuzzypup » Sat Mar 15, 2008 2:33 pm

An A31 2652-M3U with 15" SXGA screen shows the display and part of a second display with a 2 inch blank space between the two. Each has a curser showing. Looks this way when in BIOS and XP mode. An external monitor connected shows the normal display. Looks almost like the screen resolution is reversed and the horizontal width is being applied vertically so the display is tall and bottom does not show on screen. Blank space and then the display is repeated.

I don't see any setting in BIOS that would cause this effect. I tried various screen resolutions in XP with no good result. Am I missing a setting for the video adapter that will correct this issue or just a faulty video adapter here.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Your video adapter is shot. Start looking for a new mobo...

The LCD cable for SXGA+ should be 27L0682. This part number is on the LCD cable near the MB connector. Make sure you have the correct cable.

Thanks for that. Looks like the correct cable is in place and PC Doctor checked the video controller out as pass but no help to the split image.
