Nine Cell Battery

#1 Post by ZaZ » Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:30 pm

I got the nine cell battery for my R60 at the beginning of February. I was recently in the Power Manager and noticed the capacity of the battery has dropped from 85W to 75W, over 10%, in a little over a months use, which seems more than it should be. Does this seem abnormal to anyone else? My six cell which came with the machine almost two years ago is still over 50% of capacity and I haven't changed any of the settings. I have been running Linux more lately which doesn't get as good of battery life, but would that make a difference in the battery capacity? Thanks for any help.

How to get the most out of your battery - ThinkPad.

Also make sure you've followed the instructions for charging a new battery.

10% drop with normal use should take about a year. So no I would not be happy if I was you. Linux use as far as I know may affect how long you can run on your battery, but it should have no real effect on how fast it deteriorates over time.
