Does new A31 bios update work with 2200BG?

#1 Post by ken3983 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 9:22 pm

I ordered an Intel 2200BG (generic not IBM branded). I updated the bios and controller to the newest versions available. I was wondering if the card will work without the 1802 bios mod? I believe the bios is ver. 1.10 and the controller is 1.05 (or 1.04).

Most likely not. I am working on an A31 right now, and I tried to install my Intel BG 2200 wireless card, and was given the traditional 1802 error.

I believe that this A31 has the latest BIOS, but even if it doesn't, they didn't change the BIOS to allow these cards.

I second Steve's opinion, you will need to hack the BIOS.

No he won't, you only get that error with Atheros cards.
