Hi
I have installed Win server 2003 R2 on my R50e laptop for my work. My working apps work fine but I can't start any game more precisely Call of Duty and Blitzkrieg. On my XP pro box they worked with no problem. I have latest drivers for my VGA although it said that they are only for Win 2000/XP.
Sorry if this was anywhere on forum described before but I couldn't find it.
Tnx
R50e Intel VGA and Windows Server 2003 R2
solved
Problem is that open gl is off in Windows 2003 server. Install latest directx 9 c (although it is installed already in win 2003) just to be sure, latest win xp/2000 Intel 82832 GM Vga drivers (version 6.14.10.4497), in dxdiag under display tab click enable directdraw acceleration and direct 3d acceleration if it can, do a test and if it is all ok go to control panel->display->settings->advanced->troubleshooting and slide hardware acceleration to full and turn off enable write combinning. After that make game run in windows xp/2000 compatability. That' it.
And this Intel card is good at least for me. I really put maximum of it (play older games, do programming, web design, photoshop etc.) and now it is even temp file server. And my laptop is 4 years old.
But everybody buy what suits his needs.
