Z60t APS overheating

#1 Post by voyo » Thu Apr 03, 2008 3:30 pm

Hello all,
i have TPFan V0.25 installed and it reports this temperatures at 0x80 (BIOS Controlled) Mode:

1 CPU 47°C (0x78)
2 APS 59°C (0x79)
3 PCM 50°C (0x7a)
5 BAT 50°C (0x7c)
7 BAT 32°C (0x7e)
9 BUS 46°C (0xc0)
10 PCI 46°C (0xc1)
11 PWR 47°C (0xc2)

How can i lower the APS temp? Or do you think is a warranty issue?
the thinkpad is half a year old and the fan is clean and there comes almost cold wind from it ;)

Also there is a fan issue - it starts at speed 2 and after app. 20 minutes it rises even if the temp is low to speed 3 and never goes down :(

thanks a lot

hello, I was wondering if somebody else encountered the problem of the Thinkpad Z60t's APS overheating.
It is a great laptop, I love it, but it gets really hot and fancontrol is reading

CPU 56°C (0x78)
APS 58°C (0x79)
PCM 45°C (0x7a)
GPU 0°C (0x7b)
BUS 43°C (0xc0)
PCI 43°C (0xc1)
PWR 52°C (0xc2

If somebody has any possible answer please tell me what to do.

I would take it apart, clean the old gunk off with isopropyl alcoholl and replace the thermal paste with Arctic Silver 5.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
