R61i Blue screen when making a VPN-connection

#1 Post by olef » Thu Apr 10, 2008 9:48 am

Brand New R61i (8932-FDG) with Win XP pro

Just installed from the HDD, no changes made.

Have configured a VPN-connection using the XP VPN-connection
When connecting, The VPN-connection writes Approved, then I get "Blue Screen" with:

Error: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0x00000000,0x9F83F6B0,0x00000000)

The actual value 0x9F83F6B0 varies each time the Blue screen comes up.

Whose VPN client? I had this years ago on a Windows 2000 box trying to use a Symantec hardware firewall product. The client software caused a blue screen in Windows 2000. I dumped it and moved to an Intel product. Now for small business I use Juniper Netscreen and no problems. ... JDH

VPN-client: As described the default VPN-client delivered with Windows XP, part of the Network-Connections

I use the XP VPN (PPP) built-in software for one client. I have no problems. I even have it alongside the Netscreen remote. No problems. So I don't know why yours would blue-screen. Perhaps someone else does know. ... JDH
