anyone know the clockgen ics used in the r50? model 1830-c7u??

im having a bugger of a tyme finding it to see if i can force 133fsb... to bad its not the standard cy2 jobby, one dot of solder and all would b well.

R50 with an i855pm chipset running 133fsb.

for anyone interested short the 2nd and third pins on the IC chip under where the wireless card would be. basically under the touchpad. 2nd and third counting from the top left when the laptop is sitting in front of you normally, you would b able to look at the screen.

long discription. this is an actual clock generator alteration. it apears to hold normal agp/pci bus speeds but the memory bus increases. i had to drop back to using pc2100 (ddr266) memory to get it to set a higher memory divder, but even with that ram its running at actual 176MHZ (ddr352) as for the cpu i left the stock 1.4 ghz 100mhz cpu in, to run at 1861 on the new bus speed. idealy it could b replaced with a real 133fsb cpu, that may or may not generate an 'unknown cpu' error by the bios.

anyways stability testing now, looks good so far, next will b the ati graphics.

I don't think there's an "unknown cpu error", if a cpu's not recognized it just boots up at 600mhz.

NOTE: ignore the resistor info, it is an unnesesary step. just connect the pin with the red arrow to the pin witht he green arrow. this has the same effect as adding the resistor because the one pin already has the correct voltage.
