R40e - hard disk

#1 Post by herrseiler » Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:38 pm

A friend of mine got a thinkpad (R40e - 2684-54g) that is equipped with an 20GB HDD. As this HDD is very slow, he asked me to assemble a new one with more storage space. Actually my question is: does anybody of you know, what's the limit (storage space) this notebook can recognize at maximum? Is it possible to assemble a 160GB-hdd with full support?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

Go ahead and pop that 160Gb in, just make sure it's PATA/IDE/ATA-6 and not SATA...
