Re: R51 BSOD w/ PeoplePC Software

Actually, I'm not certain if this is the correct place for this, so please bear with me on this. I helped a coworker buy a R51 and did a clean XPP load on it for him. He bought it for his mom and she basically just needs it to get on line and do email. She also has a special deal through AARP that allows her to get PeoplePC Online at a discount, so that's what she wants to use.

However, this machine will not do a load of the PeoplePC software disk. It gives the BSOD and reboots as soon as I put in the disk. Or if it doesn't do that immediately, it does a physical memory dump when I try to go through Windows Explorer! I read online that the PeoplePC software has been known to have issues with Anti-Virus software, so I uninstall that, but still no joy.

Anyone with any ideas?

Here's one option - how to use PeoplePC without loading their software -

As far as the BSOD, what is the STOP error that appears? You may be able to check your event logs to view it as well
