[HELP] R40e dead

my friend's r40e suddenly won't power on...
when you power on the laptop, it only lights the hdd light and the power light,
no hdd spinning nor the processor fan, anyone can suggest what to check or something ?

Any luck? Does this occur with ac or battery, both? Where there any new devices/peripherals added?
