R61i possible to add bluetooth?

#1 Post by TyThinkpads » Wed Jun 04, 2008 11:12 pm

Hi there,

Wonder if it's possible to add in a bluetooth module?

Like my thinkpad but would really like get bluetooth support built-in (as opposed to a dongle).

Tks!

BT for R61 is a module with integrated antenna in the LCD cover. Easiest is probably one of those tiny USB BT device.

Thanks for your reply!

Is it a super tricky job? I'm kinda anal and would really prefer to not use a dongle.

What part # should I look for? Is there instructions on how to install one?

tks again!

My R61i has Bluetooth installed already. Yours probably does too. With the switch on the front of the case for Wireless in the On position, press the Fn key and the F5 key. A menu will open and allow you to turn the Bluetooth on.
