R61 restore options. Some opinions please.

#1 Post by praetor » Tue Jun 10, 2008 10:03 pm

Hi guys, I'm having some issues with my new R61. I used the restore Windows and application option yesterday because the laptop encountered some BSOD issue each time I boot up after I uninstalled some software. I had no choice but to use the restore feature as I don't want to lose some of my data in it.

The problem now is that I'm unable log in to my computer after the recovery process. And the weird thing is that even the main Administrator account and password doesn't work.

What I'm planning to do now is probably to remove the hard drive and USB it to my desktop, back up the datas, put it back again and restore it to original state. Is that feasible or is there any other options which I could try on?

And can I just get a confirmation here that restoring Windows and application from a previous backup will not remove my previous and existing data?

Thanks in advance! :D

It shouldn't but then again it is windows. It may or it may not. You will find out when you USB it to your desktop.
