Entry to setup LOCKED

#1 Post by John Estal » Fri Jun 13, 2008 2:58 pm

I have a A21M which does not let me enter setup since it is powerup locked. The F1 F12 prompts are there. If I press F1 I am taken to the padlock symbol and the smaller square symbol to it's left. If I don't press F1 (to enter setup) it times out and gives me the padlock symbol. Also I get the message that time is not set

I read that by removing the CMOS battery from its connector, wait
for a few minutes and then power up, that the CMOS will be set to default which disables the lock. This is not working.

Any ideas??
Thanks for your help

It sounds like it has a Supervisor Password set. That is not fixable by conventional means. We don't discuss how to disable supervisor passwords on this forum.
