Intel i845MP chipset INF update utility on 2653-R9U (2008)

#1 Post by chuckenheimer » Wed Jun 25, 2008 10:46 pm

Intel released this software:

http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-009236.htm
and I d/l'd the file and installed it. THEN, I noticed is didn't support the ICH3-M and got nervous. How to recover?

I imagine that pulling out the CMOS battery for five minutes would reverse any changes applied.

If the system runs fine, then leave it. Check the system device list to see if there are yellow question marks or red cross on any device drivers.

None just yet but I was really confused by that Intel page. Did you view it and see how someone could make a mistake if, indeed, a mistake has occurred?

http://tinyurl.com/657vjo

This is from 2002 and it relates to the Southbridge not the Northbridge.

Where you referring to something else?

Follow-up:

I read that these chipset drivers are inapplicable to the preload, necessary only if you install from a MS opsys media.

FYI.
