Fingerprint swipe problems - z60m

#1 Post by IceCube43 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 9:36 am

Recently, when I try to log into my computer using the fingerprint reader, it does not work. Whether starting from a fresh boot/hibernating/user logoff screens, it reads my fingerprint one of 3 ways: too fast, move to the center and press harder, or failed to read. Also it is reading much faster than it use to. As in, I am not done swiping my finger and it has already given the result.

Before I uninstall programs that control the reader and reinstall them, has this happened to anybody else? I've had this laptop for a little over a year. Any other ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried using a different finger?
