First, I found out that I needed to remove my TP from the dock before it would unlock the EEPROM.
Second, I saw disclosed when I read the EEPROM 3 ID numbers, each labeled with separate two-digit codes, 40, 08 & 20. The 20 I deciphered as my make, model and serial number, the string preceded by "LS." The 40 deciphered to contain my system board SN preceded with the string 11S46PQ383Zxxxxxxxxxxx. The board was replaced under warranty about 3 years ago and I'm not sure if this ID information is correct both in the EEPROM and the BIOS.
Lastly there's the 08 which I have no idea about. Moderator, I'm going to post it here but please change it to protect me, if need be:
11S38L4997Z1N27433X1SB
Would anyone be able to help me with this information and, furthermore, please explain why one may want to spoof these if legally allowed to do so?
Thanks.
